“If you do not get out your comfort zone and go to work, your dream, ambition and desire of becoming a success will remain a mirage, even for the rest of your life. If you do not get out of your comfort zone, you will not get to your (greater) success zone.”

Every human being naturally desires success. But what is success? It is the accomplishment of a set goal. In other words, you achieve success whenever you are able to translate a goal you set to reality. It is worthy of note that every success is an accomplishment but every accomplishment is not success. An accomplishment qualifies as success when it excels the tests of moral and social examination. What is the essence of success? Why do people aspire to be successful in life? Why do people channel their efforts into activities that are geared towards making them successful in life? The answers to these questions are very important because they justify the rationale of success.

One of the best answers to these questions is that success necessarily leads to happiness. People ‘aspire for’ and ‘work towards’ achieving success because it increases their happiness. It is impossible to be unhappy as a success. This is why success is also defined as happiness. By this token, it is impossible to be happy as a failure. One of the features of success is that it cannot be faked. It is imperative to note that the meaning of success is not limited to the acquisition of material wealth, as many people erroneously think. Being success does not mean having more money than others. Financial success is only an aspect of success. Hence, limiting success to financial success is synonymous with limiting a part to the whole.

But how does success lead to happiness? Why does success necessary increase happiness? Why is success the path to happiness? The answer to these questions is that success increases happiness by improving on comfort. Success was defined as the accomplishment of a set goal. But why do people set goals? They do so in order to overcome identified challenges which militate against their happiness. By militating against their happiness, challenges discomfort people. Hence, success necessarily leads to happiness because it removes the challenges that are responsible for discomforts. The pursuit of success is the pursuit of happiness, while the pursuit of happiness is the pursuit of comfort.

But there are some relationships between discomfort and success. The first relationship is implicit in the arguments above – discomfort inspires success. This is why discomfort antedates success. You may not appreciate the need for an accomplishment if you are not discomforted by the absence of the accomplishment. Discomfort is the mother of the passion for success, while the passion for success is the mother of success. Another important relationship between success and discomfort is that the process of accomplishing a set goal is always accompanied by some discomforts, otherwise called sacrifice or price. You must pay the price before you can win the prize of success.

Comfort and discomfort are fundamental to success. While discomfort inspires success, success secures comfort which erases discomfort. Hence, the motivations for success are the comfort of success and the discomfort of failure. In other words, the motivations for success are the pleasure of success and the pain of failure. However, comfort could be, and actually is, the enemy of success if you allow yourself to be imprisoned by it. This is why you must get out of your comfort zone before you can achieve success. People who cannot pay the price of success, or make the necessary sacrifice for success, are those who cannot get out of their comfort zones. Such people will never achieve success or better success.

There are two types of comfort zones. They are wealthy comfort zone and poor comfort zone. The former is the zone of the rich, while the latter is the zone of the poor. There are two basic negative effects of these comfort zones in the lives of the rich and the poor. The first effect is that poor people and/or failures who cannot get out of their comfort zones will never succeed in life because they will never pay the price for purchasing success. The second effect is that successful people who cannot get out of their wealthy comfort zone will never be able to sustain their success. This is why the success story of most people usually ends as once upon a time. This is also why success could be the beginning of failure.

Get out of your comfort zone and go to work. Do not surrender to failure if your previous efforts proved abortive. You should not accept that your past and/or present achievement is the best you can have, if you are already an achiever. You should resist being imprisoned in your comfort zone whether you are successful or not. If you do not get out your comfort zone and go to work, your dream, ambition and desire of becoming a success will remain a mirage, even for the rest of your life. If you do not get out of your comfort zone, you will not get to your (greater) success zone.

Everyone desires success but very few people are successful. While some people are failures because they have no goal, vision, focus, ambition, etc in life, some others remain failures despite the fact that they conscientiously pursue success. An uncommon truth to most people is that success and failure are within the reach of everyone. What is the meaning of success? Why do some people succeed while others fail? Why do some people succeed with very little effort while others work very hard but have nothing to show for their efforts year after year? Why do some people accomplish (almost) every goal they set while others cannot accomplish the least of their goals? What are the secrets of success? Pathway to Success: Roadmap to Unlimited Sustainable Success provides an answer to these questions. This book provides a guide to achieving an unlimited sustainable success.
